Working Together
Trust Your Body Birth is a Full Spectrum Doula Practice facilitated, me, Dani DiPillo. Hello!
I offer trauma aware care throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Along with working with you as a birth and postpartum doula, I offer prenatal birth-prep and consult sessions, embodiment work, and hone into my body nourishing knowledge. Utilizing my love of food and cooking skills to meal plan and chef in-home for you.
The name Trust Your Body Birth came through the window of my passion in birth work: witnessing you trust yourself and your process from pregnancy into postpartum. My goal is for you to have a birth story you feel present in. It is joy to see you respected and loved throughout your journey. My role is to support your agency and see your desires through safely.
We will envision and set preferences for the birth you want, while also being ready for variation. My hope is through nervous system, embodiment and mindset practices, childbirth and labor information, physical and emotional support, and a nurtured body, you further trust your ability to lead your birth, to give birth.
Birth is transformation. This experience has the opportunity to enliven, expand, and deepen reverence for yourself.
Everyone’s journey has variation and variation always arises, and I trust your capacity to meet the moment. Especially when you feel supported in the ways you ask for.
Birth asks for and draws upon our presence in the body. The body knows how to give birth. We are instinctual. The journey is to believe in ourselves, believe in our body. And to trust when yourself when the body needs support.
Labor, through discomfort, can also be pleasurable, offering levity and pride. Even offering sensuality as you connect to your rhythms. This journey can be a beautiful moment to reinforce communication to yourself and child. This connection and reverence extends no matter how you intend to give birth, medicated or non-medicated, or through your belly.
Birth is not inherently traumatic. Your birth can be a place to feel whole and in awe of what you, your body, can do.
I am available and resourced to work with you through any wound or fear birth may touch upon. And work through any external system that does not garner support or inclusivity.
No one needs to feel alone on their journey. Imagine a world where birthers feel held and loved. How this too could change the first experience of everyone birthed. If everyone was born into a moment of safety, and not trauma, what a different world.
I’m drawn to the process of birth, where you are meeting yourself truthfully and finding yourself capable at a pivotal moment. Engaging what is innate within. There is nothing to hide as you open to new life. Transformation comes as you rise through the capabilities of yourself, and in turn, meet your child. In this way, the child also gives birth to the mother/parent.
The birth journey does not end once your baby is born. And support/community is important as you enter the 4th Trimester. As you adjust to new life, enter new rhythms, connections, routines, you too, are healing and processing. And you, your body, your heart, deserve to be cared for and witnessed, just as you care for your little one.
Early postpartum can be powerful in meeting your intuition and trust as a parent. And, too, can be a learning period. It can be uplifting to know someone is with you, wanting to see your needs met, offering themselves as a resource for you.
My joy and practice in postpartum is supporting you, the phase you’re in. Together we can intentionally process labor, check in with your body and emotions. I use nourishing food knowledge to cook delicious and body loving meals and snacks. I hold years of newborn and childcare to be an experienced support for your family. I offer embodiment and energy work, I am a Certified Reiki Practitioner. It really is an honor to support you physically, emotionally, informatively and offer food nourishment during this moment of life.
My support will meet you where you are, in the way you want. My advocacy for this journey is always guided by your consent.
It’s my great pleasure to witness the trust of your power and process. My practice holds this respect to birthers of all communities and bodies.
My promise is to continually evaluate and educate myself so that I may be worthy of your trust and team.
Entering Birthwork
My journey into Birth work began in 2020. Following my experience of feeling safety and agency in my body after intentional years of healing and honing into what I want.
Support came through many practices, i.e. safe sharing spaces, EMDR and psychotherapy, wilderness, nutritional aid, embodiment/somatic work, and into living in body sovereignty.
Specifically womb work gave way to grief allowance, and a reclaimed trust in my body. These practices helped expand my nervous system to receive the nurturing I needed. This can sound woo woo and it may be; so too, there was a lot of learning my body with scientific evidence and research to understand how I process. And in experiencing all these modalities and studying them, I know what support I can offer others, if needed.
I am grateful for the community care seeing me through such a growing moment. Much of healing is collective, is feeling supported.
In this time my ears picked up whispers of Birth Work. Work that envelops transformation and revolution, as we move through de-shaming our bodies, trusting our agency and ability. Work that I continue to do with myself.
With that said, being a Doula encompasses my desire to uplift and extend advocacy(in the bounds of consent) for our bodies into the birth you want, in the body and identity you hold. It was, and is, important to me that in my daily work, I exercise community commitment to us all feeling heard through the social systems in the US. Especially in external systems that do not always garner such support, inclusivity, or education.
My care in this work is to see you respected, loved, supported, in the way you wish. Trusting your body and agency.
I began my training towards Certified Full Spectrum Birth work with Haize Hawke, in her Get Rooted Doula Program. This training lasted 7 months. Haize has been a Doula for 25+ years and was in Midwifery training at the time. She taught the full spectrum of doula care, pregnancy-birth-postpartum, in depth and we even were given more medical insight from her midwifery training. After which I mentored under her before beginning to take on my own clientele.
Additional trainings include:
Childbirth Education Course with Flor Cruz
Baby’s Breath Neonatal Infant Resuscitation Course with Lavender Moon Midwifery
Pelvic Postpartum Care Workshop with Sonia Reiter
Birth After Trauma Somatic Workshop with Parijat Deshpande
Reiki Certified I and II with Madre Jaguar and Rachel Lerma
Racism and Privilege in Birth Work Course with Birthing Advocacy
Plus years of cooking privately for others/working in the food industry and longterm experience in early development infant/child care.
